In April 2022, Ownership Works launched in the United States with the support of leading partners across the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Ownership Works helps investors and companies to implement broad-based employee ownership programs to create better work environments and financial opportunities for employees, and to help businesses improve their performance by attracting and retaining engaged employees who are invested in their company’s success.

Ownership Works Japan

In October 2025, we launched our first global affiliate organization in Tokyo, Japan. Ownership Works Japan convenes a partner consortium of leading companies and firms to bring the Ownership Works model to Japanese companies.
Ownership Works Japan launches at a crucial moment: rising investment, M&A activity, and government focus on household asset ownership are transforming the nation’s landscape. Yet, with only 7% of Japanese employees engaged at work – and financial insecurity worsening as purchasing power decreases and household savings dwindle – Japan faces both a challenge and an opportunity.
