Bushu Pharma Celebrates Milestone Broad-Based Company Ownership Program

In 2025, Bushu Pharma, one of Japan’s leading pharmaceutical contract manufacturers, rolled out a company-wide employee ownership program. KKR, a Founding Partner of Ownership Works, acquired Bushu Pharma in 2023. Bushu Pharma is now the first Japanese company backed by a private financial sponsor to extend ownership to all of its employees. Tadao Takano, CEO of Bushu Pharma, joins members of KKR’s investment team to share the story of their partnership and what this milestone means for the company’s new employee-owners.
